I was influenced by prints this coming season from Fashion Week for Autumn/Winter 2012. Especially inspired by the Moschino collections, looking at the next seasons trends, and prints in the past, I've only noticed Moschino doing prints I like. The two selected prints from their collection says rural construction, Architecture and masculinity. It's a fresh intake on prints and the overall men's traditional uniform of suits. It's not everyones taste on the high street, but one for the designer events and parties.

Also inspired by London street fashion, I spotted Ben in August 2011 wearing a Moschino letter printed shirt. I liked his outfit that says stylish with a rough edge. The black and white patterned bandana, ripped jeans and trainers, which all compliment the tones in his outfit.

Therefore I attempted a DIY print inspired by the Moschino blocking collections, and especially my new purchase of the lettered print from Vietnam. The autumn burgundy colours and alphabetical prints came to mind, using an old art stencil, wax and an old pair of white jeans. Regardless of my quick attempt, it had shown to be quite photographic and bold. Definitely a different look, frankly quite nervous to wear this out in public to Fashion Week, with all the stares on the train and whilst walking London.

ReplyDeleteActually there were brick prints in several collections this season - the first one that comes to mind was Jean-Paul Gaultier's menswear...mainly because I saw it first hand haha. Loving the print you made though! It would look great across a shirt or tshirt - very Margiela :)
ReplyDeleteThanks very much! You sure do know your designers and knowledge of fashion, thanks for the heads up! I shall add some of Jean-Paul Gaultier's work here. Am going to rework the trousers so its less white.
